POLICIES

Cancellations

To ensure we can accommodate all our clients, we require at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. Please note that appointments adjusted with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur additional charges.

Vaccinations

Safety First! To ensure the safety of all of our canine clients, all dogs must be fully vaccinated for DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvo) and Rabies vaccines + boosters at least 48 hours prior to your pet’s appointment.

Pet Behavior/Safety

We are committed to a safe, positive grooming environment. To help us support your pet, we ask that you disclose any behavioral concerns, including aggression or biting, prior to your appointment.
While we prefer not to use them, our stylists may utilize muzzles for safety; these can often help soothe highly anxious dogs. If a pet remains severely distressed or aggressive, we reserve the right to discontinue service for their well-being. Please keep in mind that the intimate nature of mobile grooming isn’t for every dog; some may thrive better in a multi-staff salon or veterinary environment.

Service Refusal

We never like saying ‘no,’ but sometimes a groom cannot be safely completed. If a Pet Stylist determines that a dog is not a fit for mobile grooming—or if pests or health concerns are discovered—the service may be halted mid-session. In these instances, a service refusal or termination fee will be charged to cover the stylist’s time and travel.

Communication

We love a good chat! During the hand-off, please share exactly what you’re looking for—and what you’d like us to avoid. We’re big fans of over-communication, so don’t hesitate to mention your pup’s unique personality, mobility, skin sensitivity, or any health quirks. The more we know, the better the groom!

Injuries

While our top priority is a safe and positive experience, grooming involves inherent risks like small nicks or scratches, particularly if a pet is restless, matted, or has skin sensitivities. If an injury occurs, we will immediately stop the service, notify you, and take all necessary steps to care for your pup.

To ensure your pet’s comfort, please reschedule if they have active skin issues such as open wounds, rashes, or sunburns. We want to give their skin plenty of time to heal before their next spa day

Shaving Double Coated/ Short Hair Dogs

Protecting the Coat: We take extra care with double-coated and short-haired breeds.

Why We Avoid Shaving: Cutting these coats shorter than 1 inch can cause permanent damage, heat stroke risks, and sunburns. For these reasons, your groomer may refuse requested shaves that compromise your pet’s health.

Personalized Care: Your stylist will evaluate your pup’s coat and communicate the best way to keep them looking great while staying safe.

Forever Puppy Sedation Guidelines:

  • Light Sedation Only: We accept pets under light, owner-administered sedation (Prescribed or OTC).

  • Prohibited: We do not accept dogs sedated with Acepromazine or those under heavy sedation (unable to stand/excessively sleepy).

  • Stylist Discretion: If a pet shows adverse reactions like loss of balance, service will be refused for their safety.

  • Liability: Forever Puppy is not responsible for any reactions or injuries caused by sedative use.
